Almost got a Volvo! - 2003 Lexus GX 470
By liguy - July 31 - 2:00 amI was choosing between the GX 470 and the Volvo XC90. Man, am I happy. My friend got the Volvo and has complained ever since. The GX is beautiful. No flaws after 2 weeks. I replaced an RX 300 with this SUV and it is far superior in luxury and utility (no SUV Ive ever been in rides like the RX, though). Even my 52" wife loves this car. I cant find something to complain about. We thought we might not like the 3rd row configuration or the rear door at first. Theyve both been easy to use and very convenient.

By RLSW - June 7 - 10:00 amSo far so good. The GX470 has a great look, and even better performance. Smooth quiet ride and surprisingly easy to manuever thru city traffic. The only glitch I have found is the mirrors tend "forget" the drivers side memory when taking the car out of reverse.

By JLP - June 7 - 10:00 amWe drove several luxury cars and SUVs before purchasing the Lexus GX470. When it comes to true luxury you have to go with Lexus. I have found nothing that I didnt like about this SUV. The only negative would be the price but its well worth it!!!

By dmizock - May 7 - 2:00 amWhat a way to travel! Cruising at 75mph is like sitting in your living room -- amazingly quiet. The Mark Levinson sound system is spectacular. The Navigation system is easy to use, accurate and fast.

Never thought I could *LOVE* an SUV! - 2003 Lexus GX 470
By couchmore - April 13 - 2:00 amIm a confirmed sedan gal, so imagine my surprise at how much I LOVE this SUV!Its quiet (more quiet than my previous E320 sedan),luxurious, and great looking.I dont have the ML stereo or navigation system and dont miss either.Its not without weak points: the way the 3rd row seats fold and stow looks amateurish compared to integrated ones in the Expedition,and the "gate" door has taken some getting used to (especially since it opens away from the curb).Yes, its expensive, however; Lexus reliability is a given and the service is 2nd to NONE.You cant say that about many car makers. You definitely get what you pay for with this vehicle.

Bought mine from McGrath Lexus- Westmont. Build quality top notch. I will always be a Lexus brand buyer from now on!

Defective Model - 2003 Lexus GX 470
By Isis Jones - April 12 - 2:00 amI purchased the long awaited model GX 470 on February 6th 2003. This is my fourth Lexus purchase. Due to the poor availability for test driving, I did not realize until after the purchase an unacceptable vibration in the 40-50 mph range. After taking the vehicle back for service twice, I have been informed that it is a known problem with this model but there is no fix at this time. Totally unacceptable for a luxury SUV that boasts a noise/vibration free ride. Lemon law currently being exercised.
